Session Log

As the party watch the flying airship skiff rapidly rising and moving away, the remaining emerald claw soldiers begin to unleash bolts from their crossbows.
They operate in concert, focusing all their attacks on the party while ignoring the wolves. The zombies slowly move ahead down the slope in the open to attack anyone they can reach. At the same time the wolves move forward as a pack behind Rorsa and the party cautiously move forward.
After the first volley of crossbows the Emerald Claw spell caster casts a spell that makes her vanish.
Crossbows manage to hit Ferdinand, Eriana and Alicia before the zombies reach anyone.
The wolves clearly attempt to avoid and move around the zombies, but one of them turns and attacks Rorsa, but not before she lets out a roar that rumbles across the battlefield (frightening the nearest solder). The zombie critically hits Rorsa on the nose and knocks her unconscious!
This draws the wolves into attacking the zombies. Ferdinand and Sarroxtíoð engage in melee with two of the undead while the wolves attack the other two. The soldiers use the distraction to fire three rounds of crossbow bolts at the party, completely ignoring the wolves.
While they do so the wolves reach one end of their line and begin to attack the soldiers. During this initial aerial attack and movement, Failin runs to a ridge and hides while mumbling he didn't sign up for this.
Rocinante casts a mystic armor spell on himself while moving to find some cover, and Alicia moves to try and find a place where she can be within reach of as many party members as possible. She returns fire with her arbalest while doing so.
The other party members all move forward towards the soldiers. Saferous lobs a alchemist's fire and volatile vials at the enemy at significant range, only splashing the enemy while Eriana helps dash in and out of the front line melee with zombies.
After tearing a couple of zombies apart with Rorsa lying on the ground, the angrily attack the soldiers in packs, starting on the north end of their line.
The soldiers finish firing their third round of crossbow bolts even as they are being attacked by wolves, still intent on trying to hit only members of the party. Once they are about to be engaged in melee they drop their crossbows, raise shields and draw shortswords.
Some soldiers break off and move up to attack Sarroxtíoð and Eriana and attempt to reach the rest of the party. The other soldiers are forced to fight the wolves.
Ferdinand moved to attack a zombie with a pack of wolves and he was hit by a couple of crossbow bolts, one of them critically that left him bleeding badly. Alicia was able to reach him and healed him with her lay on hands ability just before he runs in to attack the soldiers engaged with the wolves.
The wolves have some success biting and tripping the soldiers in packs. Rorsa recovers, shakes her head and stands up then joins her wolves in melee with the soldiers, towering above everyone.
After Ferdinand enters melee the skeleton that materialized begins to glow as runes appear on its body. It rushes in to attack him, but misses. He uses his nimble skills to dash around in the melee with the wolves.
At this point the wolves all begin to attack the soldiers at the same time as the party engage in melee with them - on two fronts with three soldiers attacking Sarroxtíoð and Eriana along with a couple of wolves. The remainder fight the wolves at their original location.
These are well trained soldiers, and during the combat they manage to slay five of the wolves. However, the wolves attack in packs and trip the soldiers before tearing at them with powerful jaws. At least half of the soldiers are taken down by the wolves while the rest of the party take care of the remainder.
During the combat, Ferdinand maneuvers in combat with the wolves, attacking the soldiers by tumbling past them and managing to distract one.
As the fight was turning decisively in favour of the party, the spellcaster appears firing a spell at Eriana but missing. The rune-covered skeleton turns and races towards Eriana at the same time.
Prior to this, Saferous handed Eriana a potion for her to drink and heal herself, as she has been hit in melee by a soldier and taken crossbow bolts so it is clear she is suffering. Instead of taking the potion, however, she decides to charge at the spellcaster. Using her quick speed and reflexes, Eriana closes the gap and manages to land a powerful slash with a shortsword that critically hits the caster and knocks them back ten feet.
Now visible, others in the party begin to target the caster. Saferous hurls a volatile vial at her and narrowly misses. Rocinante uses his magic to shoot his dagger across the battlefield at hit the caster squarely. Alicia follows this up with a shot from her arbalest that critically hits the caster, shooting her right through the right arm. This final blow is enough to knock the caster out.
It isn't long after this that Sarroxtíoð, Ferdinand and the wolves finish off the last few soldiers.
Eriana notices that the caster is still breathing but unconscious, so she ties her up as Alicia runs over. Eriana asks Alicia to stabilize the person so they can question her, and a reluctant Alicia agrees.
